About Us

Grace Church Walthamstow (formerly known as Church Hill Baptist Church from 1914 and was also known as Wapping Baptist Church from 1633) is London‘s oldest baptist church which was founded in 1633. 

We are a community of local Christians who worship the Triune God together and enjoy serving and encouraging one another.    As Christians, we take  God’s Word- the Bible seriously because we believe it is the way God has communicated to us about his Son, Jesus. Therefore, when we meet we read and hear sermons from the Bible and think about how we can love Jesus and one another better. We hope we are a welcoming church and invite you to visit us at one of our services or contact us through this website. 

We love and honour the Triune God-The Father, Son-Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. We seek to do God’s will which He has made known in His Word - The Bible. We love God's people and seek to encourage one another to continue walking with God. We seek to spread the truth of God in love so that others may come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ in His incarnation, ministry, suffering, death, resurrection, ascension and exaltation as Priest, Prophet and King. 

Grace Church Walthamstow is led by a team of dedicated elders and officers who are committed to honouring God and serving the needs of our congregation and the wider community.
